Boarding house Penzion Grohova, near the centre of the town of Brno, is located in the green-area-part of Grohova Street, just below the Kraví hora (Cows‘ Mount). This significant elevation within the inner city’s topography at the entrance to the dignified Masaryk Quarter is an important mainly recreational area which is used by young families with small children, joggers, students, and local dwellers - in spring for the first joyful walks, in summer for sunbathing and meeting friends, in autumn for the children kite flying, and in winter for tobogganing.
Numerous private garden plots are dominating the mount. A spacious open-air bath/swimming hall can be found, as well as several sports facilities of Masaryk University, ball-playing fields (incl. baseball), an astronomical observatory and an up-to-the-date planetarium.
Penzion Grohova is accommodated tranquil Czech multi-family house of the 1920ies with a terraced garden, which you can use in warm months to sit outside and to enjoying the evening.
The boarding house is ideal for the guests and visiting professors at Masaryk University, with the inner-city facilities of the university in close range. Persons attending the exposition centre of Brno will likewise estimate the accommodation (the exhibition area is reachable within 15 minutes of walk). Especially for long-term visitors Penzion Grohova is well-priced.

Location and reachability:
The main square of Brno, the Náměstí Svobody (Freedom Square), is easily reachable within 15 minutes by foot, alternatively via tramway no. 4, using the stopping place Všetičkova, within sighting range of the boarding house.
Features:
The pension offers six double rooms and two single rooms. All rooms have a bathroom of their own (in the second and third floors additionally furnished with an underfloor heating).
The two double rooms on the ground floor have each a separate kitchen.
The rooms in the second and third floors (in both floors are two double rooms and a single room) share a common kitchen with a beautiful view of the sloping gardens of the steep southern flank of the Cows‘ Mount (small balcony).
The kitchens are equipped with refrigerator, microwave oven and all tools necessary for domestic cooking. The rooms in the second and third floors have access to a washing machine. The entire building receives Wi Fi signal. All rooms are furnished with a TV satellite receiver, a writing desk, and comfortable armchairs.
Services and provision:
In the case of short-term stays a frugal breakfast can be served, according to prior arrangement (130 CZK/ person). Each customer may use the fully equipped kitchen (in summer months this includes the possibility for making outdoor barbeque).
Close to the boarding house the essential local supplies can be found, likewise restaurants offering local cuisine, wine bars and pubs.
Guests in the second and third floors may use the washing machine. We can also offer the washing of clothes (80 CZK for 4kg of laundry) and ironing respectively (as agreed upon). Baby stuff is available on demand. Tickets for public transportation, city maps, mineral water, beverages from the surrounding region and home-made honey may be purchased in ‚Penzion Grohova‘ any time.
Parking:
The pension belongs to the blue parking zone B, therefore parking on the street is limited in time (from Monday to Friday parking is charged and costs 30 CZK / hour, outside this time is free).
For one car it is possible to provide parking in front of the garage of the pension.
